The Shark

Howdy! I’m Tyler White, though most know me online as Zaezar or just Zae.

I started learning how to draw in 2010 randomly because it seemed fun. That was true and false. I love learning everything in art from the history to techniques to material to styles to… well everything. There’s also a lot to learn, and a lot I’m still learning. I’ve dipped my toes in gouache, watercolor, ink, charcoal, graphite, markers, oil, acrylic, even spraypaint! However it feels I’m always too busy with some new style or graphic to go too far into any one thing. Blame it on the ADD. While I’m seemingly always moving between projects, I do try to learn everything I can from all the items I come across. So it’s likely I’ll have something to say on any art challenges you present me with! I’ve done work on videogames, graphic design for websites, logos for companies, character designs for hundreds, and even animation.

With one caveat. I have Prospagnosia, or “Face Blindness” meaning I struggle with identifying people by their face alone. This has made learning how to draw people and humans a big hurdle, one that I’m working on slowly. I can, however, remember people by their person. Fashion styles, way of speech, movements, mannerisms, and all the little tics that turn a character into a person. I’ve been using this as a way to further my character designs and make them feel more real than a fictional being. Even if it’s an anthro wolf!

Art and community are important which is why I stream on Twitch. Often working on commissions but I spend time with new styles of art, various art challenges, and of course talking with the community. It’s not uncommon that I’ll stop the current thing dead in it’s tracks to show how I learned a new technique to someone who asks.

I’m always learning.
